U.S. Psych Congress met with Protests

U.S. Pyschiatric Congress receieves a vociferous recption in Las Vegas

Scores of concerned individuals voiced their concerns over the harm psychiatry is effecting upon society. Our City was the training site for the psychs; 2250 of them attended this national congress. What was the major topic of this training? 81 of the 89 presentations were about drugs, of course. And, what had to be the most popular sessions in their “scientific” program:

“Why Won't They Take Their Meds? Motivational Interviewing To Improve Medication Adherence”

“As many as 50% of patients with serious mental illness choose not to take medications”. (http://www.cmellc.com/psychcongress/2011/program/11COMP045.html)

There was a great number of people that stopped to say they totally agree with our statements. Several psych’s stopped as well. Most were so convinced of the lies that have been told they were unable to see the common sense of the issues.

The bottom line is, we made an effect. We gave a communication that is not heard elsewhere. Many people who thought there was something wrong with psychiatry now have a shared reality that there IS something wrong.

Thanks to all of you who have lent their voice to speak the truth
